Notes

[DRAFT] Indian-American anthropologist of globalisation. In Modernity at Large: Cultural Dimensions of Globalization (1996) he theorises the global cultural economy as a set of disjunctive, overlapping flows he calls 'scapes' — ethnoscapes, mediascapes, technoscapes, financescapes and ideoscapes — and gives the imagination a central, collective and constitutive role in social life rather than treating it as mere fantasy or escape.
