Third Space (hybridity)

Homi Bhabha's concept of an interstitial, in-between space of enunciation where cultures meet and new hybrid identities are produced. Located in the colonizer/colonized encounter, the third space refuses claims to cultural purity and becomes a site of negotiation, ambivalence and resistance.
