Notes

Death year approximate (c. 1554). His comparative plate of the five orders at the head of Book IV (1537) was decisive in canonising the five orders as a sequence. Existing sources require review: the 2026-dated reference entry is an unfilled placeholder and should be removed; the Bodleian source has no year. Canonical sources added: Book IV (Venice, 1537) and the Yale UP critical edition (1996).
