[DRAFT] American sociologist and James M. Page Professor of urban and environmental planning at the University of Virginia School of Architecture. Her 1992 book 'Gendered Spaces' argued that the spatial segregation of women and men in homes, schools and workplaces reproduces gender inequality by restricting women's access to socially valued knowledge.
