Explore in the Atlas →Founded in Beiping (Beijing) in February 1930 by Zhu Qiqian to decode the Yingzao Fashi and survey pre-Ming timber architecture. Organised into a 'technical studies' branch (Liang Sicheng) and a 'documentary studies' branch (Liu Dunzhen). Its 1932–37 field surveys founded modern Chinese architectural history.
