All that is public melts into air (2024)
TITLE
All that is public melts into air (2024)
DESCRIPTION
In response to the release of Victoria’s Housing Statement 2024-34, this studio challenged conventional renewal models and the diminishing role of public housing. Focusing on Fitzroy’s Atherton Gardens Estate, students explored how surrounding infrastructure could resist gentrification and defy neocolonial power structures. Through experimental mapping of "more-than-human" interactions, the cohort identified adjacent sites for intervention, producing collective models and design proposals that documented their co-design process and community engagement.
